New Orleans, Louisiana
February 7, 2016
New Orleans is a city of resurrection -- a parable we should learn from of a place washed away and forced to start again. Instead of drowning in its tragedy, New Orleans rebuilt maintaining the spirit of its culture rather than reinventing itself. The city of saints is a place that knows what is it to lose everything, but in spite of that remains determined to live out every moment to its fullest.
This pride in its battle scars makes New Orleans a city with an old soul. It is aware of every hardship it has overcome, but also a consciousness that more will strike at any moment. New Orleans has no intentions of taking life for granted. This is why the neon lights of Bourbon Street have never been brighter, the Cajun food never spicier, the voodoo never weirder, the gin fizzes never sweeter, and the jazz never brassier.
That’s my long way of saying: New Orleans is a place you need to experience.
